Chair Yoga ZOOM


Class Details

Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 pm (EST)

You won’t need a mat, only a sturdy chair. You will learn simple but effective meditation and breathing techniques that you can do at home to reduce anxiety and breathe more freely. You will also be guided through gentle movements to release tension in the muscles supporting the spine and shoulders as well as more challenging balance and strengthening exercises using the support of the chair for safety and stability. Everything in this class is optional so you can do as little or as much as you like. You will leave breathing easier and feeling stronger, calmer and more at home in your body. Yoga can help to reduce depression, build muscle, increase oxygenation and circulation in the body and improve sleep. No prior experience is needed. All ages and abilities are welcome. All online classes are via Zoom.

“The chair yoga class has been a wonderful addition to my week. As a senior with several body parts that no longer work the way they used to, I find this class to be an excellent way to move and stretch and do what I can do. Lea leads each exercise with suggestions for participating at the level that works for you.  Some of the routines are sitting and some are standing, but the chair is always there for security and balance, if needed.  I find participating in this class before my weekly poker game has improved my concentration and focus as well as my balance and flexibility.”  -Andi P.

A class recording will be sent to all registered students and will be available for 5 days, so you can take the class at your convenience.
